Jay Sutter’s Mill was one of those Richmond places where the nights somehow got better the later they went.

There were cold drinks, packed rooms, familiar faces, great music, and those sweet stretches of time when nobody was in any hurry to leave. Then eventually came the moment every regular knew was coming .... last call.

“You don’t have to go home .... but you can’t stay here.”

And somehow that line became part of the memory.
