WHY AM I DOING THIS
And WHY is it LEEBOY?
Some of you have asked where “LEEBOY” comes from.
40 some years ago I was playing golf with my boss at The Campbell House in Lexington. Coming off the 18th hole was none other than legendary Gatewood Galbraith. Kentucky original. Hemp-suit wearing, Corvette-driving, liberty-loving legend.

Continuing vigilance, active civic engagement, and robust policy responses will be crucial in
reversing this tide and safeguarding democracy against internal and external threats.
My aim is to provide HONEST, accurate, verified political news. And my HOPE is to motivate you to spread the word. We WILL NOT JUST LIE DOWN and lose our way of life, our democracy!!
Here's to the FIGHT !!
GATEWOOD GALBRAITH KILBERN CORMNEY

He tossed a golf ball at me. I didn’t see it.
Then I heard and felt it . “LEE BOY!” I looked up and there he was, grinning like he’d just declared independence again.
From that day on, every time he saw me, I was “LeeBoy.”
He was one of my heroes. We often had lunch at the Campbell House with its owner, Kilbern Cormney ...and like a sponge.. I absorbed the knowledge of these two incredible men.
Kilbern, a man who had started his fortune in Havanna Cuba, before Castro, ALWAYS had the best business stories. And I was ALWAYS willing to listen. Not to mention Kilbern often waived the lunch tab 😁. And Gatewood never paid. The respect these two had was amazing.
Gatewood, a fearless Kentucky voice who never asked permission to be himself. He believed in civil liberties before it was fashionable, and he practiced what he preached with stubborn joy.
That little nickname stuck. And every time I hear it, I remember that moment on the 18th green — and the kind of courage it takes to live authentically in a complicated world.
LEEBOY lives on.
Back to the REAL reason ... In recent months, a concerning trend has emerged in various democracies around the globe, raising alarms over the integrity and resilience of democratic institutions.
From the United States to Eastern Europe, political polarization continues to deepen, often fueled by misinformation and partisan rhetoric.
The rise of authoritarian populism is manifesting in tactics aimed at undermining electoral processes, curtailing press freedom, and eroding public trust in the judiciary.
For instance, in the United States, the January 6 Capitol riots epitomized the fragility of democratic norms, as political leaders and citizens grappled with the consequences of a conspiracy-laden narrative that questioned the legitimacy of election outcomes.
